Like any other do-it-yourself project, it is very important to have the right tools for the job so it is done correctly. The total cost of all of the tools for this job will cost you $30 maximum. Here are the tools we will use for this job:

From left to right, a small flash light, a standard #2 phillips screwdriver, a small tube of thermal compound, anti-static wrist strap, a wire cutter, and zip ties. The flashlight is for seeing in the small corners of the case and places on the motherboard, the screw driver will be used to install the motherboard and just about everytihng else in the computer, the thermal compound is just in case the thermal pad that comes with the CPU and cooling fan is not enough, which it should be since the manfacturer supplies it and they have tested it. The static wrist strap is meant to ground you so you do not shock the circutry and fry it. The wire cutters are just to cut the zip ties neatly at the end of the job to do some cable maintenance. Lastly, the zip ties are to clean up all of the cabling at the end of the job. Of all of the tools listed, the two most important are the anti-static wrist strap and the screwdriver. It is very important that we point out that whenever you work on the interior of a computer case, you should ALWAYS wear an anti-static wrist strap and clamp the other end of it to a metal piece of the case or something else that is grounded. As for the screwdriver, make sure that it is not magnetized. Some screwdrivers come magnetized already or become magnitized if used around magnets. A magnetized screw driver can damage or destroy a hard drive, so make sure that the one you use for this project is not. Now that we have the tools we need its time to start opening up our new equipment and see what we have.
